“For us, we got into CyberQP because we wanted password rotation, and we wanted the Just-in-Time (JIT) system. We wanted all of those tools, and CyberQP fit that really well for us.”

One of the first solutions TigerHawk Technologies adopted was CyberQP’s JIT system, which immediately addressed credential management issues. Instead of keeping admin rights standing open, which poses security risks, the system grants temporary, secure access only when a user needs it. Employees request elevated privileges directly within their workflow. CyberQP verifies the request, and time-limited credentials are issued with a complete audit trail.

This removed the constant back-and-forth between TigerHawk Technologies’ surveyors and IT for credential approvals, giving engineers valuable time back. Just as important, it improved client security.

As Bareis noted, JIT access ensures no standing privileges exist when TigerHawk Technologies’ engineers access client environments, lowering the risk of accidental misconfigurations or unauthorized access.

After seeing the benefits of CyberQP’s JIT system, TigerHawk Technologies expanded its use of CyberQP by adopting auto-elevation. This feature automates administrative tasks by granting elevated privileges when a request matches pre-defined policies. For TigerHawk Technologies’ surveyors, this meant they could continue working without waiting for IT to approve each request manually.

Bareis explained, “After we got onboarded, we wanted more. We wanted to have the auto-elevation tools, so we got involved with auto-elevation at an early stage.”

He continues to share how this simplified workflows, “We had surveyors who would go out in the field and collect data and then return to their computers to process it. At that point, they would need admin rights — and auto-elevation fit the bill.”

As CyberQP introduced new capabilities, TigerHawk Technologies began writing custom rules to eliminate repetitive tickets. Bareis noted, “We got a guy who wrote the rule for QuickBooks, so that we never have to touch QuickBooks again.”

By adopting auto-elevation early and leveraging custom policies, TigerHawk Technologies streamlined privilege management, making its operations more efficient while maintaining strong security.
